Summer Break Mini Book | Design Team: Tai Cortes
Hello my crafty friends! It’s Tai and I have another fun project to share with you. I used the brand new LBM collection ‘Passports & Postcards’. I have already shown you a 12x12 scrapbook layout documenting Mother’s Day this year using the collection.. it doesn't have to be used only for travel memory keeping!
Today, I have made an amazing 4x6 spiral bound album to hold all our summer break memories. One the cover I used the new ‘Murphy’ alpha to stamp out my album title “Summer Break” in matching colors.
I filmed a flip through video of the completed project, you can watch that here!
I initially began with cutting most papers into 4x6. For some page variety, I cut a few at 8x6 and some 12x4 in order to create some fold outs and fold ups. I also adhere some together on 3 sides to make a few pockets. Deciding the page order and any interactive elements was key in the beginning.
Once they were all decided and in a general order, I used my Cinch Book Bining Machine to punch all the necessary holes for the coil. I have only used my Cinch a hand full of times, so I was glad to use it for this project. I used a white coil so it did not compete with the paper collection colors.
Once it was all cinched together it was time to start embellishing my little book of pages. I used the pack of icons and title pieces available with the collection to decorate each page. I also used many of the cut apart pages in the collection for tuck spots, interactive flip ups and flip outs. Many of the pages have an interactive element to them. I designated plenty of places for photos in sizes of 2x3, 3x3 or 3x4 in many areas. There are 42 designated areas but the pockets and folders can be stuffed with more.
