"I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list"...
A travel bucket list... one of the traveler’s notebook spreads I worked on today during the List With Me, Live session on YouTube 🎥
Used the gorgeous Wherever collection from 49 and Market.
The envelope die cut pocket was perfect for adding not only my current travel bucket list, but also the travel bucket list I did back in 2021.
Feeling so fortunate to have been able to check 6 spots off my bucket list in the last 3 years!
What does your list look like, do we share some of the same bucket list destinations? Have you documented it?
Products Used:
Wherever collection - 6x8 collection pack, chipboard bits, ephemera bits, postage washi tape roll, mini laser cut elements, blendable rub-ons
List Builder - Travel stamp set
Bullets & More Stamp Set

]]>Design team member Stephanie Buice created this sweet traveler's notebook spread using the Layle By Mail Reggie Alpha, What a Day & 2023 About Last Month stamp sets, paired with the pastel perfect Fresh Air collection.
I love how she stamped the title and then fussy cut and adhered - what a great way to place your title exactly where you want it, overlapping the photo & patterned paper strips as Stephanie did.

Howdy friends! I'll be out of town this weekend, so that means another installment of Flashback Friday Fun!
On Fridays when I'm traveling & we're not listing, I send out an email with a suggested list topic, based on a list we've done in the past... Flashback Friday!
New to Flashback Friday Fun? I started doing it early fall of 2023 when I was headed into a crazy 3 months of traveling & teaching and thought it would be a fun way to still list when we weren't together on a Saturday. Read more about it here!
During the pandemic we did a lot of driving. And sightseeing. Some days it was all we could do to get out of the house!
My hometown, Park City, Utah, is a short 30 minute drive away; this barn is an iconic landmark as you head into town. One day as we were passing by, I started reminiscing about my hometown & the things I loved about it. That weekend it prompted a list topic :)
Need a list topic this week while I'm gone? What are some things you love about your hometown?
If you have the Listing With Layle Idea Book, you can find this list in Chapter 12 - Looking Back, on page 57.

Back in 2008 and again in 2010, our son Jack made a time capsule.
In the photo he’s holding a time capsule for someone to find & open in the future. We were having the staircase redone in our house in 2008 and I thought it would be neat for him to put a time capsule in one of the newel posts. We added my husband’s phone number in the letter Jack included; one day someone will find it and hopefully give us a call 😀
The other time capsule he made in 2010, in class in 6th grade, with instructions to open it when he graduated from high school. The baseball, lego truck, skis pass, report card - some of the things he included, along with index cards explaining why he put each item in, a note from me and a note from his teacher ❤
I had so much fun walking down memory lane today, sharing about our time capsules & listing the things I would add if I were to make a time capsule ❤

Last Saturday one of the lists I created during my List With Me... LIVE creative listing session was a list titled Love Is... During the session I encouraged everyone to do the list in a way that would be meaningful to them.
Love Is... from a spouse or partner perspective, a parent, a child, a grandparent, a pet, a friend... you name it!
For my list I used the Layle By Mail List Builder I Heart This stamp set, several Distress Oxide inks, and products from the Simple Vintage Love Story collection.

Day 25 - Christmas Day :)
Oh how I miss Christmas mornings when the boys were little. The anticipation & the excitement and watching them open their presents - are you with me?!!
Our boys are now of the age where they want big ticket items for Christmas - furniture (Jack) and a ski pass (Sam), which means there's not much wrapped under the tree.
We always do stockings and that's one of my favorite parts. And Christmas Eve pajamas - what Nick & Sam are wearing here :)
I did surprise Sam with a bottle L&P - his favorite soda from his trip to New Zealand. He talked so much about it after coming back from his trip this fall that I thought it would be fun to get him a bottle. Not an easy - or inexpensive feat! I ended up ordering it from a grocery store in Australia and having it shipped here.
The look on his face was priceless - he was so surprised and excited!
On the right page I added a piece of vellum, acrylic numbers and foam stickers.
Underneath that page a pocket that I tucked in photos & a journaling card from the day & evening.

Day 24 - whoopie cakes... aka whoopie pies
Another one of our 'for as long as I can remember' traditions - making whoopie cakes (some people call them whoopie cookies or whoopie pies) with the boys.
You'll find this story pretty much every year in my December Daily! Every few years I include the recipe in with the story, you can find the recipe here in my December Daily last year. My secret is adding a dash of mint extract to the icing, along with crushed up candy canes :)
Kept the 24th super simple with some journaling on the left and 2 photos on the right. Sam (our younger son) insisted this year on only having candid selfies to 'keep it real', hence the partially blurry photo of the 3 of us :)

Day 23 - all I want for Christmas, every year
For as long as I can remember, we've gone snow shoeing either on the 23rd or 24th - it's all I want for Christmas from my family! We can be up in the mountains in 15 minutes from our house & it's like another world. So quiet & peaceful.
I printed a large, narrow photo to emphasize the height of the trees behind us.
A photo on the back side driving down the canyon on our way home. It was a beautiful day!
On the right I added a card that flips up to reveal another photo
Added the story on the back along with some acetate pieces, die cuts, vellum & gold foil foam stickers - it was so cold that day... 9 degrees! Stamped the wordstrip 'all I want for Christmas'.
I have a confession... I had to tweak something, like on the 22nd... I had to!! :)
The foundation pages for the 23rd were all set to record our outing - we do it every year, so I knew what theme I wanted for the foundation pages. But we didn't go snow shoeing on the 23rd, we went on the 24th!
Again, I always say 'you do you'. You do what works for you. I always figure there's no way I'll even remember next year whether we went on the 23rd or the 24th, and it really doesn't matter which day it was anyway... it's the memory & the story that matter.

Day 22 - an 80th birthday!
My mother in law turned 80 on the 22nd! My friend Kathi had shared something really neat her family did when her dad turned 80 & I knew I wanted to do the same thing.
The plan began to take shape on Thanksgiving when the entire family was at my mother in law's house. All kids, spouses & grandkids were each assigned to put together a list of things they love about her - favorite memories, stories, traits - and then email them to me. From there I printed them, cut each individual one out, rolled each one around a pencil, added to a jar & then sprinkled various sizes wood hearts throughout.
More about that shortly :)
The large gold glitter 8 and 0 are cake toppers! I just removed the wood toothpicks from the bottoms of the numbers, then adhered them to a piece of heart acetate.
Underneath the acetate is an interactive page - part of it sits inside the pocket page, part of it folds over the top of the pocket page & part of it sits on top of the pocket page.
The black floral part lifts up and then the cream holly/ivy piece folds open to the right.
We presented to her on Christmas night when we were all together & we each read a few of them from the jar.
BUT WAIT! I'm documenting the 22nd - which was her birthday - but included a photo from the 25th, which was 3 days later. You know what, that is A-OK. You get to decide in your projects what you want to include and when. It was just fitting for me that I include a photo from that night!
On the back side I included a photo of the jar
Here's my original day 22 foundation pages, other than adding the acetate sheet with the 80 as an additional page, I pretty much used the foundation pages exactly as I had them - love that! Made it so quick & easy to document the 22nd :)

Day 21 - going solo
My husband was out of town for the day, scheduled to fly home early evening, in time for a party. The plane had mechanical issues, the flight was canceled, he stayed overnight in a hotel & I went to a neighborhood party solo :)
He'd sent me a photo earlier in the day, pre canceled flight, standing on the beach; I took a selfie in the bathroom mirror, prior to leaving for the party. Put the two together along with some wood veneer stars.
Stamped the word 'solo on the right. I had adhered a foam santa to the top of the pocket page; I added some gold metallic star confetti to create a shaker pocket, now I just need to fuse the pocket closed :) The page had 4 pockets, in order to make the 4x6 card fit, I cut it into two 3x4 cards.
Told the story on the back and called it good!
