December Daily 2023 - Days 8, 9 & 10

Each day here on my blog I'll be sharing my foundation pages (the base page I had ready to go before the month, using my 2023 December Documented Mini Book Project Kit and the finished pages along with the supplies I used (linked at the end of each post). 

Days 8, 9 & 10 - U2 in concert, spontaneity at its best & 13 photos!

On Monday of last week - the night of the 4th! - we decided to book airfare, hotel & concert tickets for the weekend to see U2 in Las Vegas at the Sphere. 

Talk about spontaneity at its best! 

The travel my husband does quite a bit for his company + the amount of travel I do for my business pays off when it comes to booking trips like this - exchanging miles for airfare & points for hotel stay makes what would otherwise be an expensive trip, especially at the last minute, a doable trip!

I told the story over the days for the 8th, 9th & 10th.

I used a Fuse again (like I did on the 1st) to create 2 shaker pockets on the 8th by adding thin strands of unwound gold twine in the top pocket & an assortment of fun bits in the bottom pocket.  

On the back I added some journaling - the Christmas Concert 3x4 card from Elle's Studio could not have been more perfect!

I swapped out the foundation page for the 9th for a technique I like to use to add a lot more photos.

I took a 12x12 pocket page (made up of six 4x6 pockets) & trimmed off the top row of 2 pockets.

Then I folded the outer right pockets towards the holes.  99% of the pocket pages that have 2 holes, regardless of size and/or who makes them, have the same hole placement.   Meaning that by trimming off the top row of pockets, including the top/3rd hole, the 12x12 pocket page now fits in my 6x8 album :)

The best part of this technique... that gives you up to eight spots for horizontal 4x6 photos!

Even with space for 8 photos, I had more that I wanted to include so I also used a 4x6 Vertical Pocket Page that sat on top of the opened large pocket page. 

Had MORE photos I wanted to include, so I added a 4x6 Photo Flip

My foundation page for the 10th turned out to be perfect!  During the day, before the concert, we went to the Zoo Station experience at the Venetian Hotel.  They had lots of great photo opps there, including a photo booth.  You could send the photo to your email, so I was able to size it to the height I needed - it worked perfectly!

We had such a fun trip!!!

So glad I had my foundation pages done ahead of time, it would have taken me hours to figure out how I wanted to tell the story of our trip.  Since I had the base already put together I just needed to build on it :)
