Tulip Picking | Design Team: Nikki Sher
Hello fellow Layle by Mail Friends!
There’s something so special about the first signs of spring—bright flowers, warm sunshine, and those perfect photo moments you just have to document. After a beautiful day of tulip picking at the farm, I knew these photos needed a colorful layout to match the vibrant blooms. Today I’m sharing how I used several stamp sets, die cuts, and rub ons to capture this cheerful spring memory.

It’s Nikki Sher back to show you a fun Traveler’s Notebook layout I created using several stamp sets, die cuts, and rub-ons. I knew I had several photos I wanted to include in this layout, so I made sure to pick a light-colored patterned paper that wouldn’t overpower the images. It was such a bright and beautiful day on the farm—the light made the photos turn out perfectly! I love how using a single light patterned paper really allowed the stamping, rub-ons, and photos to shine.

I also knew that I wanted a colorful title to match the photos! So I picked up one of my favorite alphabet stamps, Reggie, matched the ink colors to the colors of the flowers, and began stamping. Instead of plain white cardstock, I love stamping on the Layle by Mail Lined Cardstock. It adds just a tiny bit of interest, plus the lines make it easy to line up the stamps.
The floral Die Cuts from the 2026 Winter/Spring Season Pass were also a perfect match for my photos. I love cutting die cuts in half to fully utilize them—now half of that image isn’t being covered by my photo!

After stamping the “March” definition stamp under my photo, I decided to add some more black text to the right side of my layout. Luckily, the 2026 Winter/Spring Rub Ons had the perfect option—a spring checklist.
I typed up my journaling and printed it on a matte clear printable shipping label, then adhered it in place. Doesn’t it almost look like I typed it directly onto the paper?

I hope I’ve inspired you to create! And as always, please stay happy, healthy and crafty!
I wanted to include the year on the layout, and a great thing about the Reggie alphabet stamp set is that it comes with uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers. I stamped “2025” in the same wonky pattern and used two colors of ink per number. That way I could still get the full rainbow effect on the right side of the layout, tying the two pages together.
I added a final phrase from the Documenting the Details Rub Ons set and declared it finished!
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my Traveler’s Notebook layout—Tulip Picking. Spring is such a wonderful season for documenting colorful memories like this!
Do you have any favorite spring traditions you’re looking forward to this year? Tulip picking, gardening, spring walks? I’d love to hear how you plan to document them—let me know in the comments!

Best,
Nikki Sher
