Spring Planner Clips | Design Team: Shellye McDaniel

Let’s dress up our planners, books and journals with a sweet embellished clip! Shellye McDaniel here with a fun cluster of Spring Clips that I made with a few papers from the Season Pass Collection, and stamps and dies from the In The Box-Quotes.

To begin, I used the square and round “quotes stamp” to stamp around several of the “bird” motifs from the 12X12 paper. Using the matching dies, I then die-cut those images out. I also used the same die to cut a backing for each image from heavy cardstock and then glued together.

I used the smallest “rectangle quotes” die to cut five images from coordinating patterned papers. The smaller ink splatter from the Ink Splatter Stamps and gold ink were used randomly over the die-cut rectangles. Next, I die-cut the same rectangle quote shape from heavy cardstock to use as a backing for each of the clips.

Several sentiments were selected from the Season Pass Winter/Spring Stamp Set and then stamped onto the rectangle papers as shown.

Next a bird motif was added to the top of a rectangle with foam adhesive and then embellished with loops of ribbon and flowers from my stash. I also added a decorative paper border at the bottom of each rectangle.

Finally, a jumbo paper clip was attached to the back of the stamped rectangle with hot glue. Foam tape was applied to each side of the paper clip and then the cardstock rectangle die cut was attached to the back.

These make the perfect gift to have on hand to pair with a journal or book.
