Spooky Halloween Album : Design Team: Shellye McDaniel

Hi Squirrels! Shellye McDaniel here bringing a bit of “Moonlit Manor” with a delightfully fun laminated mini album!

I’ve used the Moonlit Manor 6X8 Paper Pad for the cover and base papers of the album, along with some textured cardstock from my stash.

On this page, I glued on leftover strips of papers (from creating the mats) and then stamped an “X” from the Christi Alpha 5X7 Stamp Set, to the ends to mimic a stitch!

First, I created the cover by layering a strip of the “black plaid paper” and some paper trims onto the “orange stars paper”. I used a zig zag stitch to hold those pieces in place and to add a whimsical decorative touch!

Next, I laminated the cover with a 10mil laminate and then attached the “candy corn tag” from the Moonlit Manor Large Die Cuts, to the center of the cover with foam adhesive. A cluster of cute characters and “spooky title” from the Die Cuts Icons were arranged onto the center of the candy corn tag.

Finally, I stamped “HALLOWEEN” using the NEW Letter Beads Stamp Set, onto a small strip of paper from one of the journal cards. It was trimmed to the same width as the candy corn tag and then attached below the “spooky” title.

Inside, I used various patterns from the 6X8 Paper Pad, a section of the 4X6 Journaling Cards Paper from the 12X12 Paper Collection and the textured cardstock papers. Photo mats of cardstock topped with a patterned paper were machine stitched to create a border before adding them to the page with foam adhesive.

I also slipped in a couple of envelopes that were decorated with border stickers…they were the perfect match! And when laminating the covers, I had a small section that was unused so I also laminated two of the Large Die Cuts and used them as a “clear” dashboard-type divider.

To bind everything together, I used my Cinch and a 1” metal spiral binding.
