Motherhood | Design Team: Tai Cortez
Hello my crafty friends! Its Tai and I am back with another double page layout in my 6x8 album. This story is in my ‘All About Me’ album, an ongoing project documenting stories from my point of view. Think of it like a journal.
I initially selected this amazing photo taken of my daughter and I during the halloween season. It was a brief moment in time captured by a friend. My eyes are closed but that is what I love about the photo. It had tons of competing colors, so I printed it in black and white and at 7x8.25 to fit outside the page protector.
For this project I stamped out ‘motherhood’ with the Large Poe Alpha Lower Case stamp set onto vellum. I attached it with the tiniest amount of liquid glue and added a rainbow flower trim along the edge of the photo. Stamping on vellum really helped the title pop from the photo.
For the colorful patterned papers, I am using products from the Bold and Bright collection from Vicki Boutin.
I stamped out 4 cameras from the Large Icons Photography stamp set; once stamped on colorful paper I used the Large Icons Photograpahy metal dies to cut them out. To include journaling, white card stock measuring 1.5 inches by 5 inches were cut out 4 times and rounded the corners.
From the List Builder-All the Things stamp set to stamp out ‘Things I’d like to Remember’ repeatedly on each journaling area. I completed my journaling on clear matte journal paper for each area. I am able to fit so much more text when I do this instead of handwriting it.
I think my project is a good balance of color and black/white. It’s a sentimental story, on all the ways my daughter is growing up and I am her mom noticing each phase of it.
