Love Language | Design Team: Junell Kruzel

Hello everyone! Do you remember in the mid 1990’s the rage over Gary Chapman’s book The Five Love Languages? I sure do! For the month that celebrates love, I thought I would do a layout about my love language and the qualms I had about it!

I just celebrated my 50th birthday and had some photos of the gifts I received and that made me think about how my love language is receiving gifts and how I used to be kind of embarrassed to admit that. The Season Pass 2.0 kit has some adorable papers perfect for this topic. I cut a 12x12 sheet down to an A5 size (5.5 in x 8.5in.) to fit my notebook and then matted a collage of photos on white cardstock. I adhered that to the heart paper right in the center.

On the right side, I wanted my title to be big and bold. I used four different alphabet sets from Layle By Mail: Poe Alpha, Reggie Large Alpha, Reggie Small Alpha, and Reggie Outline Alpha. I’ll have to admit it took me three attempts to get the stamping right. I started with the word love in the color Cheeky by The Stamp Market.  I then moved my way down to the word language in the color Abandoned Coral in the Distress Oxide inks. It was really important for me to get the colors right in order to achieve a cohesive look across both pages. Then I stamped gifts and then went back and filled in the words my and is in black.

I found some cute die cuts that fit the theme of my page perfectly. One was from the die cuts that comes with the Season Pass 2.0 kit and the other came with the Year In Review die cuts. I love how they were both in the shape of a speech bubble lending to the theme of language. I wanted those to be stacked at the top of the layout.

I measured my space between the die cuts and the title and typed out my journaling in Canva, printed it on clear, matte sticker paper and placed it on my layout.

I love how this layout turned out. I love the colors and the cute paper and how it’s a story I’ve never told before! What is your love language and have you thought about doing a layout about it? Thanks for reading and you can find more of my layouts here on Instagram.
