Looking Forward To This Summer | Design Team: Junell Kruzel

Hello everyone! Junell here on the blog today! It’s the end of June as I’m writing this and there is still so much summer left! I used the Looking Forward stamp set as a prompt to make a list of sorts to capture what I’m looking forward to this summer season.

I wanted to create a grid layout so I used a pencil and ruler to figure out how many spaces I could create if I used the Summer stamp from the Looking Forward Stamp set. It gave me twelve spaces. I started by using the List Builder Dividers to create three rows across. I chose the scalloped stamp because it reminded me of waves in a pool or the ocean, lending to that summery feel. I then stamped “things I’m looking forward to this” stamp twelve times and then the Summer stamp right underneath alternating colors.

I then had to measure the space that was left and go to Canva to create my photo and text boxes. I created twelve spaces that I then added to one photo sheet and printed out. I cut them out and adhered them to my page.

Because those twelve spaces took up all the real estate on my page I had to find a way to add my title in a creative way. I decided to create an insert using the large camera from the Far and Wide travel collection. I’ve been wanting to use that! I traced the reverse of the camera onto 6x8 Dot Grid paper that Layle sells on the website. I cut that out. The page protector would be sandwiched between the camera die cut and the grid paper.

To make it more interesting, I repeat stamped a Stacked Word Art stamp over the grid paper camera, outlined it a couple times with a black pen to give it some definition. I then stamped out my title and fussy cut out each letter (I didn’t want to see the background through the stamping.) and adhered it to the paper. I added some little dragonflies and another stamp as a little subtitle.

I added some more stamped and fussy cut dragonflies which came from the Season Pass 2026 Summer/Fall stamp set to add a little more interest. I also added a sparkle stamp from the Glimmers 3 stamp set to the lens of the camera die cut.

I then used redline tape to adhere the camera die cut to the front of the page protector. Then used more redline tape to adhere the title piece to the back of the page protector making sure to line it up. I used my small scissors to then cut the rest of the page protector away from the camera, leaving the spine and holes portion intact. Now I can add it to my album and it flips perfectly!

You’ll notice that I don’t have all twelve photos added to the layout and that’s because there’s still more summer to come! Once I get those photos , I’ll go back into Canva and print them out. Right now, it’s just the Canva photo image they use that I use as a place holder.

I love how the image I had in my head came to life with this layout. Let me know if you have any more questions about how I created this layout! Thanks for reading and you can find more of my layouts here on Instagram.
