Let’s Make a Mini Travel Album | Design Team: Rachel Newman
Hello! It’s Rachel from @thelifefacilitator and I’m sharing how I decorated a mini album to store my completed passport size travel journals. I cut apart a cardboard box and used the Far and Wide Collection to decorate it.
To decorate the cover, I started with a piece of the Far and Wide 6x8 Paper Pad as the background. To me, nothing is more travel coded than a luggage tags and transportation tickets so this paper felt just right for the cover. I picked out the “Let’s Wander” from the Far and Wide Die Cut Titles and backed it with a less busy pattern paper, to help the words pop.
The space around the title was begging for some embellishment like the airplane window die cut from the Far and Wide Die-Cut Icons and the header. I had a little room under the title and thought the Far and Wide Washi Tape would help ground the title.
I had the most fun playing with the Postage Builder Frames and Stamps Bundle to make these stamps along the spine. You see the background paper? This is actually the cover page paper from the Far and Wide 6x8 Paper Pad that features samples of each design, perfect for the spine!
Normally, I don’t pay much attention to the back of my mini albums, but when you are in the creative flow, you just keep going! Like the front cover, I adhered one of the paper papers from the Far and Wide 6x8 Paper Pad first and then used a scrap piece of the paper’s backside (these pages are double-sided!) To create a space for an embellishment cluster. I loved the sign posts with all of the different locations from the Far and Wide Die-Cut Icons. It is great for a storage binder holding travel journals from multiple destinations! I also paired the adventure definition form the Far and Wide Die Cut Words and Phrases with the keys from the Far and Wide Die-Cut Icons. To make this section look finished, I included a strip of the scalloped washi from the Far and Wide 6x12 Stickers.
