Layered Heart Tags | Design Team: Shellye McDaniel
Valentine’s Day 2026 may be in the history books, but it’s never too late for hearts and love! Shellye McDaniel here today with a trio of Layered Heart Gift Tags using the “February” papers, stamps, rub-ons and die-cuts from Season Pass Collection and the Hearts Die Set.
I started with basic white shipping tags from my stash. I cut them down to 3” so that they would fit the gift sacks better. Next, I stamped the “heart label” to the bottom of each three tags.
Next I used some scraps of red, dark green and teal cardstock and die-cut the outer border from the largest heart die. I selected three coordinating prints from the February papers and die cut those with the inner part of the largest heart die.
To combine the outer and inner portions of the hearts together, I traced the heart die onto white cardstock. Next I cut out three shapes for the hearts and used it as a base for gluing the die-cut shapes to! The hearts were added with foam adhesive to the center of a tag.
I chose matching embellishments to go with each heart and topped them off with rhinestones.
In finishing, I cut three 1/2” strips of white cardstock and added various rub-ons. The ends were dovetailed, the excess trimmed off and then attached to the hearts’ centers.
The little tags are a great addition to gift bags, place settings, junk journals and card fronts. But the biggest bonus is that they’re a fantastic way to use up those scraps and leftover bits!
