Holly Jolly | Design Team: Tai Cortes
Hello crafty friends! It's Tai and I have a 'Holly Jolly' 12x12 scrapbook layout for you today. I am using the paper collection from the Fall/ Holiday 'Season Pass' collection. This collection of patterned papers included Halloween, fall and Christmas themed papers. I have enjoyed creating projects for each of these themes over the last few months. Today, we are having fun with the Christmas themed projects in the kit.
I loved two patterned papers from the kit and needed a way to use them both. The diagonally striped paper was great to cut along the line and the ability to use both. Together they were kind of busy, but adding a white 8.5 inch square of white card stock it created a busy frame.
I was enjoying the look, but then i thought what if some of these stripes were over my white card stock square.
I took my exacto knife and started cutting the thick stripes and tucked my card stock through the paper cuts. If you give this technique a try, take your time. It was labor of love to make it work properly. But the end result was well worth it.
I used the large 'Reggie' alpha for my 'Holly Jolly' title with black archival ink in the lower right corner. My photos are printed at 3x4 and staggered the placement. Once they were adhered, the rest of the festive embellishments can be arranged around my photos. All the colors worked together and it all turned out great.
