Halloween | Design Team: Tai Cortes
Hello crafty friends! It is Tai and I am catching up in my daughters’ ‘School Year Insert’. I started a school year insert for my daughter starting in pre- school and she is currently in second grade. So I have 4 completed years of storytelling all about her and school. I use the Storyline Chapters inserts and binder system from Heidi Swapp.
For this double page layout, I am using the Fall/Holiday Season Pass collection from LBM. In my inserts I include stories all about her during the school year. Her interests, hobbies, halloween costume, book fair, field trips, recitals and any other events that come up.

In this insert thus far is always the first day of school story, currently hobbies, book fair visit, favorite movie of the year, new game she plays with daddy, she lost 2 teeth in one week and her school year portrait. My next story is all about her Halloween season. She dressed up at Rumi from Kpop Demon Hunters. The new popular Netflix movie, that was the ‘IT’ costume among many young girls this year.

We attended her school’s Trunk or Treat in the middle of the month and then she dressed up for ‘Character Day’ at school as Isabella from Encanto. And then the grand finale of Halloween, where she dressed as Rumi once again to go out trick or treating.
I had tons of photos to use for this double page spread. I first cut out ‘Halloween’ from a 4x6 card in the collection.

loved the ‘Reggie’ font of these letters and paired it with the diamond patterned paper.

For the opposite side, I used the orange polka dot paper along with fussy cutting out the haunted house from a 3x4 card.

I used a few die cuts for embellishments across both pages. I made a 4x6 photo collage of 2x2 squares and then 2 4x6 photo collages of 2x4 photos. Once my photos were all printed it was about arranging them all across both pages.

All the photos truly depict a good happy halloween season. She was with her friends, she collected her candy and mom and dad were there for all of it. I hope she always knows how loved she is. My memory keeping of her moments is the way I love her. I document her life because I just love her so much. I hope these memories bring her joy when she is older.
