Favorite Summer Drink | Design Team: Nikki Sher

One of my favorite things about memory keeping is documenting the little moments that instantly bring you back to a season. They may not be the biggest memories, but they’re often the ones that make you smile the most years later. For this layout, I wanted to capture one of my favorite treats of the summer—the Starbucks Tropical Butterfly Refresher.
The bright, cheerful colors in the Spring/Summer and Summer/Fall Season Pass Collection were the perfect fit for this page!
I started with the bold sunburst patterned paper for my background. I love how the rays carry across both pages and immediately give the layout a bright, summery feel. The warm oranges and yellows also worked perfectly with the colors in my photo.
For my title, I wanted something big, colorful and playful. I fussy cut the oversized SUMMER letters from one of the 3x4 cards in the collection, then used the brand new Cooper Alphabet Stamp Set to stamp the words “favorite” and “drink”. I stamped each word onto white cardstock, cut them into banner shapes and added a pop of blue around the edges. I love how combining the stamped words with the fussy-cut letters created a completely custom title.
Along the left side of the page, I added a strip of the butterfly patterned paper. Since my photo is of the Tropical Butterfly Refresher, I couldn't resist playing up the butterfly theme throughout the layout! I added several butterfly and dragonfly die cuts around the title and photo, carrying those colorful little details from one side of the spread to the other.
I also found another way to put the 3x4 cards to work on the right side of my layout. I used one to create the tag tucked behind my photo, adding a little twine bow at the top for some extra texture. I love looking at the cards as more than just journaling or pocket-page pieces. With a little cutting, they can become titles, tags, layers and embellishments too!
I matted my photo with bright blue cardstock to help it pop against all of those warm yellows and oranges. Below the photo, I fussy cut the “Good Vibes and Great Memories” from a 6x4 card and added in some handwritten journaling on the tag I created with the 3x4 card.
For a few finishing touches, I added several word strip stickers beneath my title. Carefree days, relax & unwind, and endless sunshine were perfect little phrases to capture the feeling of a favorite summer treat on a beautiful day.
I love that this layout documents such a simple everyday moment. Not every page has to be about a big event or special occasion. Sometimes a favorite drink, a pretty day and a quick photo are more than enough of a reason to make a page!
I hope this inspires you to take another look at all of the pieces in your Season Pass Collections and find some unexpected ways to use them. Those 3x4 cards especially have so many possibilities beyond their original purpose!
