December Daily - Day 11

December Daily - Day 11

Each day here on my blog I'll be sharing my foundation pages (the base page I had ready to go before the month, using my 2022 December Documented Mini Book Project Kit) and the finished pages along with the supplies I used.

Day 11 - The Original Pancake House and a $1,000 tip!

It's the 2nd year now that we've done it.  A group in our neighborhood gets together for breakfast at a restaurant in December.  We eat and pay our bill.  Then we hand our server an envelope.  Each of us brings a $100 bill and it gets added to the envelope.

This year we gave our server a $1,000 tip.

It's so easy to take what we have for granted; this is such a special way to share the love this holiday season.

For the 11th I was inspired by quite a few people on social media that had done something similar with stars around a cut out circle.  I thought I'd give it a shot since the end result looked so fun, and it was!

I started out by laying vellum hearts in a circle-ish shape on my base page.

Once I got the hearts where I wanted them to be I used Highlighter Tape (it's amazing!!) and taped over the tops of the vellum hearts so they were all together in one piece, exactly the way I had laid them out.

I applied adhesive/tape runner to the backs of the hearts then set the piece off to the side.

I then used the We R Memory Keepers - Circle Spin & Trim to cut a circle in the center of my base page.

Then I adhered the circle of hearts to the top of the base page and removed the Highlighter Tape - easy peasy.  The highlighter tape is repositionable so it's designed to be removed easily; super helpful when laying things out and being able to keep the position you want them in!

I grabbed the logo from the internet, printed it on photo paper and then cut it into the same size circle as the one I cut out from the base page and then adhered it to the same size pattern paper and added my journaling.

I love how when you turn the page the frame captures Sam and his girlfriend from the day before just perfectly.

I'd love to say that I planned that and calculated and measured and pulled out my protractor to make sure they were centered perfectly in the circle... nope!  Dumb luck that it just worked out that way - ha ha!

Although I completely ditched my foundation page for the 11th, I'll be using it for the 12th so I'll share that tomorrow :)
