December Daily - Day 4

Each day here on my blog I'll be sharing my foundation pages (the base page I had ready to go before the month, using my 2022 December Documented Mini Book Project Kit) and the finished pages along with the supplies I used.  

Day 4 in my December Daily albums has been the same for the last 15 years -  it's our youngest son Sam's birthday!  

The photo is always Sam standing in front of his birthday door.

I started a tradition with our boys when they were little - after they go to bed, the night before their birthdays, we decorate their bedroom door like a giant present, wrapped with paper, bows & little goodies attached.  

It's fun to see how he changes from year to year looking at the same picture.  If you looked at my past 14 December Daily books, you'd see a similar story each year on the 4th.  Here's the same day from the very first December Daily I did back in 2008!

Even funnier to see how the door stuff changes.  When they were little it was so easy - a little candy, a few small toys from the dollar store & done.  As they've gotten older, it's turned to cash & gift cards!  

When Sam moved out on his own 2 years ago, I thought it was the last year for The Birthday Door tradition.  We've still been doing it though; last year was the coat closet door in our house and this year it was our bedroom door - ha ha!  He still loves it so much that it's hard for me to give it up :)

I created a double layered pocket on the left side of the spread & added photos from his birthday dinner last night.

The right page was an insert from the album I'm using this year.
