December Daily - Day 18

Day 18 and the story about our oldest showing off his culinary skills :)

Our oldest son lives in Tacoma, Washington & is training to become a chef.  Last year was the first year he wasn't home for the holidays; this year he wasn't planning on it either.  Christmas is the busiest time of year for the restaurant where he works, so coming home this year was out of the question.
Until...  COVID.
All restaurants in the state shut down for dining in a few weeks ago, so after a few days he decided to head home and join us for holidays.
It's been so fun to have him home, especially when he cooks for us, which he's been doing quite a bit since he's been home - lucky us!
My husband loves to cook as well, so it's been fun for them to get together in the kitchen & spend time together.  Even our youngest joined in the fun :)
On the menu for Friday night - scallops with bacon marmalade, grilled squash, twice baked potatoes & bacon wrapped filet mignon.  So yummy!!!
Here are my foundation pages for the day -
