December Daily - Day 16

Day 16 and the story of our Dollar Store advent elf :)

I found the advent elf many years ago at the Dollar Store.  For $1!!!  He's the cutest thing ever.  About 3 feet tall and skinny :)  He hangs on a doorknob in the house every Christmas.  He has a wooden candy cane on a string, attached to his hand.  The candy cane slides in the dated pockets.

I created a 'hidden door' that hinges on the right & opens on the left.

I have a few close up photos inside, along with some journaling.

The foundation pages are below... spoiler alert, I changed it up quite a bit :)

I had stalled out on working on my book for a few days & couldn't figure out why.  I wasn't feeling inspired by my foundation page.  At all.  So I finally decided to change it up and that worked!  One of the biggest things I've learned after doing a December Daily for the past 13 years is this.  Well, it's actually two things ;)

First, it's ok to take a break.  And get behind.  It will come!  Sometimes you don't have time to work on it.  Other times you aren't inspired.  And that's TOTALLY OK!

Second, if you create foundation pages in your book ahead of time, it's ok to change them up.  Sometimes a little.  Sometimes a lot.  Sometimes, 100% change it up.  If you aren't feeling it, don't force it.  Change it up until it inspires you!
