December Daily - Days 15, 16 & 17

Each day - ISH! - here on my blog I'll be sharing my foundation pages (the base page I had ready to go before the month, using my 2022 December Documented Mini Book Project Kit) and the finished pages along with the supplies I used.

Days 15, 16 & 17 - A girls' trip to a Bavarian village

Three days all wrapped up in one today!

I've been teaching at 3 Craft Chicks for 5 years now; the very first time I taught there was in November of 2017 and someone asked me if I was going to Leavenworth while I was there.  I had no idea what it even was at that time!

If you aren't familiar with Leavenworth, it's a Bavarian-styled village in the Cascade Mountains in central Washington.  Earlier this year, Travel & Leisure named it one of the top 25 Christmas towns in the USA.

(While I'm at it... a little shout out to my hometown of Park City, Utah - did you see my post from the 13th?  - Park City was named in the top 10 in the same article!)

Ever since then I've wanted to visit Leavenworth, but there's just never enough time while I am in town teaching as it's a 7 hour drive round trip from Spokane.

Anyhow...  my friend Michele that owns 3 Craft Chicks texted me in October and asked if I wanted to come out in December for a girls' trip to Leavenworth... and I said yes!

I used my Out the Window stamp set for the intro to the 3 day trip.

I used the MISTI stamping platform, which made placement of all of the individual stamps easy peasy.

I flew into Spokane and we drove 3.5 hours to Leavenworth.  The drive was stunning!

We pulled into town as it was getting dark, checked into our hotel & experienced the town at night, all decked out with Christmas lights & a sledding hill in the center of town.

On the 16th we had a fabulous breakfast at the hotel, listened to an amazing Alphorn serenade and then back to the center of town for more sightseeing & shopping.

One of my favorite apps to use when traveling is Weathershot which enables you to put a weather overlay on a photo.

The 16th has 2 doors that open, from the top & the bottom, with room for several photos.

On the back of the page I created a clear envelope to hold some memorabilia from the trip & my journaling.

I trimmed the holes from a 6x8 pocket page, then trimmed it down to 3.5" tall to create the pocket & adhered to the page, then adhered a sticker to the front of the clear pocket.

I tucked memorabilia in the pocket, then secured it with a snowflake paperclip.

I always love to buy postcards when I'm traveling & add them to my mini books; they're a great way to capture the flavor of the place you're  visiting and also do double duty as a space for journaling!

Here are my foundation pages for the 15th, 16th & 17th.  When I first created them back in late August, I had no idea we'd be planning this trip.  It's uncanny how my foundation pages for these days were so perfect for this trip... who would have known?!
