December Daily 2025 | Day 9
Well, well, well... look who's here after missing my December Daily posts for weeks! And you know what, I'm a-ok with it! This is year 18 for me, and it's happened 3 other times in 18 years... I get behind. REALLLLLY behind!
No worries, I'm back and ready to finish up! I'll be posting daily-ish over the next 2 weeks as I get it finished. I'm excited to jump back in, and feeling refreshed!
Each day here on my blog I'll be sharing my foundation pages (the base page I had ready to go before the month, using my 2025 December Documented Mini Book Project Kit and the finished pages along with the supplies I used (linked at the end of each post).
Day 9 - a neighbor gift tradition
Here are the individual pages that make up Day 9 -
We've lived in our neighborhood for 7.5 years... this is our 7th Christmas. We built and were 1 of 4 people that moved in the first week. It took 5 more years before the community was fully developed. One of the amazing things that happened during that first Christmas was that one of the 3 other neighbors suggested that instead of doing neighbor gifts for Christmas, we set up a group donation link with the Utah Food Bank for the neighborhood. What started as 4 homes eventually grew to 160 homes and we're still carrying that tradition now.
On the right side of my spread I tucked a Santa gift tag into a pocket from Ali Edwards & adhereed to a 3x8 card from my Dear December collection. The 'nine' die cut could not have fit more perfectly in Santa's hands!

On the left I have a pocket that holds a group of pieces I set together, punched a hole and then threaded with baker's twine.

On the 3x4 card I explained the story of our neighbor gift tradition. Behind that I included a screenshot of a text thread this year between the neighbor that started that tradition all those years ago and myself, talking about the amount of money our neighborhood has raised and the buying power the Utah Food Bank has with that $ (they can purchased from $7-$8 of food for every $1 donated).

Here are my original Day 9 foundation pages with a few changes to make it work for the story I wanted to tell :)
