December Daily 2025 | Day 2

Each day here on my blog I'll be sharing my foundation pages (the base page I had ready to go before the month, using my 2025 December Documented Mini Book Project Kit and the finished pages along with the supplies I used (linked at the end of each post).

Day 2 - An early birthday celebration

Here are the individual pages that make up Day 2 -

The Doodlebug 6x8 Albums have side-loading pockets pages, vs the top loading pocket pages you see with most other manufacturers; the side-loading pocket lets you do some fun things that you aren't able to do with top loading pockets, like sliding a 4" tall x 12" wide piece into the side pocket and then folding the rest over the top of the pocket to create an interactive element.

I tied some fun trim around the top ring to add a little sparkle to the birthday dinner :) I added a strip of washi tape along the left edge of the pocket page, then repunched the holes. Adding washi like that is not only a great way to add a decorative element to otherwise a wasted space, but it's also a great way to repair torn holes or to create your own holes, regardless of what's already punched!

The page opens up with a birthday greeting on the left and photo of our younger son and his girlfriend at dinner.

I pulled the gold 'happy birthday' piece from the top of cake the restaurant brought him as they were singing happy birthday... save all the things, you never know when you might be able to use them! :) I added a few star stickers over the top of the stars on the piece to break up some of the gold & tie it in with the background.

Journaling on a card in the bottom pocket... and done! Easy peasy today!
