Each day here on my blog I'll be sharing my foundation pages (the base page I had ready to go before the month, using my2024 December Documented Mini Book Project Kitand the finished pages along with the supplies I used (linked at the end of each post).
I'm a few days behind after traveling last week, working on catching up over the next few days :)
Days 14 & 15 - Thrift-a-Gift
I'm combining Days 14 & 15 together for today's story -
We were invited to a 'Thrift-a-Gift' family party on Sunday the 15th, so on Saturday the 14th I headed out to a local thrift store, in search of 3 thrifted gifts from our family.
When I created my foundation pages back in August (seems like soooo long ago!) the 14th was one of my favorite pages I did. I started out by cutting a circle, then cutting it in half, adhering an element to hang off the bottom of the circle, then punching a tiny hole in the bottom & adding a silver reindeer charm. Closed it's a half circle...
When opened, it creates a full circle, with a little intro to the story on the left & a photo of my shopping cart at the thrift store on the right.
The back of the circle leads into the 15th where I tell what I did on Sunday with what I bought at the thrift store
The photo on the back of the page shows the 3 gifts wrapped & ready to go. I had so much fun shopping... things came together so easily! I thrifted everything but the food in the containers & the cellophane wrap - the baskets, ribbon, green filler, and the themed contents, all found at the thrift store! It was such a fun idea, I've never done anything like that before!
On the right page I included photos of each gift & the theme of each gift -
The first gift was a ceramic pasta bowl with two metal present decorations (all thrifted); I bought a bag of pasta & a jar of pasta sauce & added to the pasta bowl, then added green crinkle filler (thrifted), wrapped with clear cellophane and then tied with ribbon (thrifted).
The second gift was a basket (thrifted), a ceramic cookie jar & mug (both thrifted), vintage metal cookie cutters (thrifted); I bought hot chocolate mix and two bags of cookie mix and added all to the basket, then added green crinkle filler (thrifted), wrapped with clear cellophane and then tied with ribbon (thrifted).
The third gift was a a burlap basket (thrifted), & 6 plastic popcorn containers (thrifted); I bought popcorn and several boxes of theater candy and added to the basket, then added green crinkle filler (thrifted), wrapped with clear cellophane and then tied with ribbon (thrifted).
Then a play on the old Mastercard 'priceless' ad campaign :)
