Each day here on my blog I'll be sharing my foundation pages (the base page I had ready to go before the month, using my 2024 December Documented Mini Book Project Kit and the finished pages along with the supplies I used (linked at the end of each post).
Day 24 - A New Christmas Eve Tradition
Since our boys were little we've always had the same Christmas Eve tradition - new pajamas. It's been years! This year I decided to introduce a new Christmas Eve tradition - books & chocolate :) I read something about it in early December - it's a Norwegian tradition called Jolabokaflod, which loosely translates to "the Christmas Book Flood." My grandfather migrated from Denmark when he was 12 (although not Norwegian, both Norway and Denmark are Scandinavian) ... and he & my Grandma always gave us See's Chocolates for Christmas, so I thought it would be a fun new tradition to incorporate into our holidays :)
No worries... we're still doing new pajamas, I just did them a few days earlier this year so we had the pajamas to wear on Christmas Eve while we read & ate chocolate.
I had a few more surfaces than in my foundation pages, so I added a card & a screenshot of something I found on Instagram where you could add a photo to a Christmas Tree ornament template.
On the next spread I added a photo of us in front of the Christmas tree holding our books & box of chocolates :) The banner was printed on a 12x12 piece of patterned paper that I cut in half, then cut to 8". I used an xacto knife to cut around the banner pieces on the left page so I could tuck the photo under it.
