December Daily 2023 - Day 12

Each day here on my blog I'll be sharing my foundation pages (the base page I had ready to go before the month, using my 2023 December Documented Mini Book Project Kit and the finished pages along with the supplies I used (linked at the end of each post). 

Day 12 - The Squirrel Tree

Last year I was gifted a 5" pre-lit Christmas tree from 'the Texas ladies', after they gave me a squirrel ornament for my squirrel tree.  When they learned I didn't have a squirrel tree, they took matters into their own hands.

Fast forward to this year & the tree is full of squirrel ornaments!  Some I have picked up in my travels, others that a number of wonderful ladies have purchased or made and mailed to me :)

On the left side of my spread I jazzed up the 3x4 card by stamping 'feeling festive' repeatedly in the blank space.  I used a sticky note to create a mask before stamping to make sure I didn't stamp onto the patterned part of the card.  By altering the placement of the stamp on each line, it gave it a more filled in look vs stamping in the exact same place each time.

I wanted there to be a bit more continuity between the 2 pages so I used washi to jazz up the pocket pages and then repunched the holes.  This is a great way to add color & pattern to your pocket pages. 

It's also a great way to use pocket pages that have holes that are in different places than the rings in your album - just cover the holes with washi and then repunch where you need them to be!

A quick & easy photo of some of the ornaments on the tree & called it good!

Another super easy day to create, thanks to my foundation pages - just replaced the 2 cards on the left page so I had room to tell the story.... that's the beauty of a project like this and getting the foundation pages done prior to December!
