Dance Recital | Design Team: Tai Cortes

Hello my crafty friends!  Its Tai and I have a fun double page layout in my daughter’s school year insert I keep for her.  I started this ongoing tradition when she first started school in Preschool, VPK, kindergarten and now 1st grade.  I keep stories that just pertain to her and her milestones and accomplishments in this HS Storyline chapters insert.

For this story, I am documenting her end of the year hip hop dance recital.  And yes, I totally have an error in my stamping of “Recital”. I have little arrows indicating that the two letters should be switched :)

I started off with printing my main photo at 4x6 of her in her costume.  Then I printed a bunch of 2x2 for the rest of the photos for the opposite page.  I went flipping through my 12x12 patterned paper collection and found a rainbow one from Vicki Boutin that worked perfectly to represent my beautiful daughter.  Rainbows are her favorite.

I stamped ‘Dance Recital’ with the Tali alpha set for a bold title.  Stamping a misspelled word happens to all of us.  I embraced it and kept working.  Then for more details to both pages, I used ‘Documenting the Details’ for word art.  When stamping on photo paper remember to use Staz On ink.

I added a few chipboard embellishment from Elle’s Studio and die cuts from the Sweet Rush collection.  My journaling is done on clear matte sticker paper.  My journaling includes everything about her dancing season, her dedication to practicing and sticking with it and also how proud we are of her.  And the special part of the daddy daughter dance that my husband signed up to do with her.  It was awesome and its a great story for her to remember in this album.

I encourage you to document a story about your children the next time you sit down and craft.
