Choose Gratitude Boxed Album | Design Team: Shellye McDaniel
Hi friends! Shellye McDaniel along today with a project that I have made several times, using several different types of little plastic boxes. This project today uses a clear 3X4X1 box with a snap lid; I found this type at Wal-Mart in the office/school supply section. Inside is an “Everyday Gratitude” Mini Album from one sheet of patterned paper!
To get started, I measured the outside of the box. There is an inset in the lid, so I measured that area and cut a piece of patterned paper to fit inside. I layered on a mat of paper, followed by one of the 3X4 journal cards that I die-cut with the largest “In the Box-Scallop Die Set.” I decorated the journal card further with a couple of sticker sentiments and then hand-cut a small flower and leaves from the floral patterned paper.
I also measured the edge of the box lid and covered with strips of patterned paper leftover from the album construction. The four sides of the box were also covered in small pieces of paper.
Inside the box is an 18 page little mini album! To create the album (for this size box) I cut three 3.75”X12” strips of the 12X12 plaid paper from the Everyday Gratitude Paper Pack. Each strip was scored at 2.75”, 5.5”, 8.25” and 10.75”. Next I attached the three strips end-to-end by adhering the two “short” ends together. The remaining “short” end was trimmed off.
Instead of an “accordion” or fold-out style of album, I did glue the pages together, leaving an opening at the top for tags!
Once again, I used the largest scallop die to die-cut page mats from various patterns of paper. After attaching the mats, each of the pages were decorated with cardstock stickers and enamel dots and I also stamped on “dashed lines” for journaling and little bows here and there! The cover is simply one of the 4X6 journal cards, folded in half and then glued around to hold all of the pages in place.
You can also find pencil or index card sized clear boxes too! Fill with journal cards and little embellishments and gift to a card maker or scrappy friend!
