Hey friends, Jessica here! Today I’m sharing a travel notebook spread made with the Layle by Mail Out of Print Release, and it’s full of fun junk journaling details. I wanted to document our August camping trip in a way that felt a little scrappy and collected, with lots of small photos, layered stickers, and rub on phrases. It came together quickly, and I’ll walk you through each step and why I made the choices I did.
I love the postage stamp punch from Layle’s shop, so I decided to use it for a junk journal style spread in my camping travel notebook. I printed my photos small so I could punch them out and scatter them across both pages. I used the Postage Builder Dies for some of the smaller ones. For the bottom of the spread, I tore a piece of paper from my stash with a fish hook design to nod to our crayfish hunting adventures. Torn edges keep it casual and give the spread that layered, collected-bits feel.
Next, I grabbed elements from the Travel Junk Journal sticker book and layered them around the page, around and overlapping the punched photos. I built my title with the alphabet stickers from the same book, then filled in the rest with the Glimmers Alpha stamp.
For the date, the August Month by Month and About Last Month stamp sets made a great pair in the top right corner.
To finish, I scattered phrases from the Glimmers Rub Ons across the spread and used a phrase at the bottom to create an intro for my journaling. Rub ons are quick to apply and add that junk journal detail without crowding the photos. I love how easily and quickly this spread came together!
Thank you so much for being here today and I hope I’ve inspired you to create!
