It’s designed to spark new ideas, help you get more value out of the supplies you already own - or are thinking of purchasing! - and show just how versatile each set can be... whether you’re feeling stuck, short on time, or just ready to try something new.
Creative team member Lorilei Murphy is back with us again today with 5 Ways to use the Postage Builder stamps & metal dies - prepared to be inspired once again!

I have five ways to show you how I used the different Postage Builder stamps and the metal dies and I hope you are inspired to get yours out and re-create an idea of play around and come up with your own!

1. Travel Full Background
I made a full background page of stamps using the Postage Builder Frames stamps that looked like they were collected while traveling! Some of the frames are stamped right on the background paper while others were stamped and die cut from cardstock. On this page I coloured some of the super cute images in with marker for pops of color. I also added some images from the Far and Wide collection to have a variety of “collected” stamps. The stamp with the city skyline turned into a great spot for a title. I added a Travel Rub-on as well as a stamped circle.
2. Sidebar Reverse Coloring
I knew I wanted to make a design with the postage frames layered together. First up I stamped & die cut the stamps with the Postage Builder Frames and Postage Builder Metal Dies from masking paper so that I could layer the stamps. If you don’t have masking paper you could use low tack tape, a post it note or hold a thin sheet of printer paper over your edges.*One note to keep in mind about stamping and masking - whatever you stamp first will end up being “on top” of the layers.I stamped and then after letting the ink dry for a minute I masked off that stamp and added more stamps around it until I was happy with my sidebar. I added the Postage Builder Flowers stamps next and in some spots I added the masks back to the images so that the flower stamps also looked like they were under the top stamp. On this page I decided to color in the backgrounds of the stamps instead of the images. I used 4-5 different grey markers to get a variation. This is a fantastic way to add color to go with your other elements or match your photo. Seasonal colors would be great for this and of course rainbow colours.3. Rainbow Stamp Grid
I love a grid and the Postage Builder Frames stamps are the perfect containers to form all sorts of grid layouts! I chose one of the frames to make an entire grid on this layout. I selected rainbow coloured photos from a trip to fill the frames.I used the matching solid frame to the outline stamp and added ink to those frames in the same color order. I squiggled some matching coloured lines on the inside of the frames as well. At the end of the post you can see an example of a page I did with book covers in this same design!4. If It Fits It Sits!
There is a saying about cats that if they fit in something they will sit in it! I think the same way about the Postage Builder Frames! The great news about Layle’s stamp sets is that SO many of them fit inside the frames. The mini icon sets are fantastic for this as well as many of the phrases included in her sets and the icons on the monthly stamps! I encourage you to go through your LBM sets and see what fits!I made a page about things I love about September I mixed and matched stamps from my stash of LBM sets. I made a loose grid of images and stamps clustered together to tell the story.
5. Dear December Envelope
Layle kicked off the whole Postage Stamp series with her Dear December collection in 2025! Making an envelope for my page/story was super fun, you could use an air mail envelope to make a similar page! I made a striped paper in photoshop and just added a white rectangle on top to give it the envelope effect.I mixed stamps from the postage frames from the Dear December Postage stamp set, along with the new Postage Frames set. I filled the frames with Christmas icons and used red and green inks for a messy postmarked effect. I added a bit of yellow ink with the splatter stamps as well.So Many Possibilities!
I thought I would add the pages I have previously made with these sets! The Postage Builder sets are little workhorses and a great addition to your Layle By Mail stamp collection. I love them and the possibilities of combinations are endless!!
